How to program your Sky remote to control your TV
The following guide will explain how to program your Sky remote control so it can work your TV as well as the Sky box. There is 2 types of codes 3 digit and 4 digit.

How to program the remote control with a 4 Digit Code
Step 1 – You need to find out the make and model of your TV, the make will usually be on a badge on the front of the TV, if not it maybe on the rear of the TV on a sticker alongside the model number. Don’t worry if you cant find the model number.
Step 2 – You also need to know what revision (version) of Sky remote control you have. This is on a sticker inside of the battery cover – more details on remote versions here (this will open in a new window).
Step 3 – Locate your TV from our list here (this will open in a new window) you can then find a list of codes. There maybe a number of codes to try.
Step 4 – Ensure that the TV is switched on. You are now ready to enter the code. Press tv on your Sky remote, then hold down select and the red button until the red light at the top of the remote flashes twice (this should be 2-3 seconds).
Step 5 – Press tv on the sky remote again, Now you can enter the four digit code then the LED should blink twice, if not re check the code and try again.
Step 6 – Point the Sky remote at the TV and press on/off on Sky remote (power-top right button on your Sky remote control), the TV should now go into standby mode, press select to store this, the light on the Sky remote control should blink twice.
Note : If your TV did not switch off, press tv, then press the on/off button. Repeat this (press tv , then on/off) until your TV turns off, then press select. If the light on your Sky remote control blinks three times, your Sky digibox has checked all the possible settings for the code you used. Check that you have the right 4 digit code and start again at step 1.
Step 7 – Press tv guide. If you see the TV Guide screen, the remote control setup process is complete.
If you did not see the TV Guide, you must now set the TV Guide function as per “Step 8” onwards.
Step 8 – Press tv on your Sky remote control.
Step 9 – Hold down select and the green button together for about two seconds, until the red light on the Sky remote control blinks twice.
Step 10 – Enter in the number of the channel on your TV that you use for watching satellite TV (For scart switching, this may be one of the other buttons on your remote e.g. help, i or a colour button).
Step 11 – Press select on your Sky remote control. The red light blinks twice. The remote control setup process is complete.
You should now be able to control your TV from the Sky remote.
How to program the remote control with a 3 Digit Code

Step 4 – Ensure that the TV is switched on. You are now ready to enter the code. Press tv on your Sky remote, then hold down select and the red button until the red light at the top of the remote flashes twice (this should be 2-3 seconds).
Step 5 – Key in the three digits of the first ‘Direct Set’ code for the manufacturer of your TV, the red light on the Sky remote control will now blink twice.
Step 6 – Press tv and try the handset, using all the function buttons like power, volume and channel etc. If it works with all the TV functions, then try the tv guide button.
Step 7 – If the Direct set code did not work then start again from step 1 with the next three digit code in the list for the manufacturer of your TV.
Step 8 – Press tv guide. If you see the TV Guide screen, the remote control setup process is complete.
Note : If you did not see the TV Guide, you must now set the TV Guide function as follows on “Step 9”
Step 9 – Press tv on your Sky remote control.
Step 10 – Hold down select and the green button together for about two seconds, until the red light on the Sky remote control blinks twice.
Sky Q Remotes
Sky Q systems set up is done via your main home screen, although you’ll still need a code.
Press the Home button on your remote and select the Settings menu.
Now select Setup and then the Remote control option. Choose the Sky remote design you have and follow the instructions on screen.
